Speak Drive Text - Hands Free Features:

Most safe driving apps on the market use the built in Google speech dialog that requires you to manually touch the phone when it doesn't recognize your command. Speak Text uses a custom built dialog that will never require touching the phone...except when you want to log in and give us a 5 star rating :)

- Extremely battery efficient since the app is not running in the background and is only launched when a sms is received.

Speak Text Hands Free will speak your incoming text messages aloud and allow you to reply using voice commands. The unique feature of Speak Text is that it will only read the messages aloud when you tell it too. This feature can be toggled on/off. Speak Text Hands Free allows you to have a full conversation while your hands are tied (driving). Speak Text has Siri/Google Now functionality that will listen to your voice commands and act accordingly.

Customizing Speak Text - Hands Free:

- Enable/Disable the app

- Allow the texts to automatically be read without a voice command

- Customize the voice action command (Default: "Read Message")

- Option to launch app when device is locked

- Auto-reply features

- Customize the app delay. Default is 2 seconds but may be changed depending if your phone vibrates when a message is received.

- Customize the amount of time given to say your voice command.

Optimization Tips:

If you have Handcent or Go SMS installed on your device please follow the instructions below for Speak Text - Hands Free to work:

Handcent:

Disable notifications on your stock messaging application. Go to Handcent, Settings, Application Settings, Default Messaging Application, and select disable (this will still allow handcent to work).

Go SMS:

Disable notifications on your stock messaging application. Go to GO SMS, Settings, Other Settings, Un-check Disable other message notification.

Must have TTS installed, which is available for free by Google. If a different language is desired then change your TTS settings accordingly. Speak Text - Hands Free will work with voice packs and any TTS language installed on your device.

If Speak Text does not launch when a message is received:

- Check to make sure app is enabled in the settings

- If you have a third party messaging app installed (go sms or handcent) see instructions above. If those don't work then uninstall and use stock messaging.

- Some custom lockscreens may interfere and may need to be uninstalled.

- If the application closes while still counting down then it's most likely detecting your ringtone or vibration. We have accounted for this and made an Advanced option in the settings called "Delay". Set accordingly depending on the length of your vibration. Most of the time a 2 or 3 second delay works perfect.

Speak Text has worked on thousands of devices so if yours isn't working then it's most likely a 3rd party app that is interfering.
